As the owner of Kevin McGowan, CPA Consulting Services, I offer comprehensive tax, accounting, regulatory, and financial advisory services to individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. I work closely with my clients to address their financial and tax matters, reduce risk and tax exposure, optimize financial outcomes, and achieve their financial goals. With more than 30 years of financial industry experience, clients rely on me for thoughtful and strategic solutions to help ensure improved financial outcomes and business growth. Before launching my consulting business, I was part of the senior leadership team of Pepco Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of Exelon, and led several key regulatory and financial groups for more than 17 years. These groups included state and federal regulatory and policy, treasury, corporate risk management, corporate strategy, and financial planning and budgeting. I was the Chief Financial Officer of Potomac Capital Investment accountable for the financial and tax management of a $1.4 billion diversified investment portfolio of operating companies, leases, securities, real estate, venture capital funds and financial investments located in North America, Europe, and Australia. I was the Director of Finance, Treasury & Tax at Duty Free International, where I was responsible for international and domestic treasury and tax functions, cash and investment portfolio management, and foreign currency hedging for an international retail company with more than 200 locations throughout North and South America, Europe, the Far East and the Caribbean. As a Tax Manager at Ernst & Young, I managed engagement teams that provided tax services for corporations, partnerships, estates, trusts and individuals, with a significant emphasis on estate tax and succession planning.
I am a licensed Certified Public Accountant. I hold a MBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BBA in Accounting and Business Data Systems from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
